[11/09/2009] Soothsayer's Review

This is one of my favourite tarot decks. The artwork is excellent and I find the subject matter fascinating. I am more of a collector than a reader and this deck appeals to me on every level. However, I would suggest that it is not a deck for beginners due to the lack of card titles on the Major Arcana. Lo Scarabeo's decision to keep to the minimal borders is great; I have never been a fan of their multilingual borders and this new, minimalist approach is great and really focuses attention on the images. The Enchantress Tarot is a very feminine deck, featuring primarily female figures in the card illustrations; even the Kings are females. LS have done a great job with this deck. The cardstock is their usual excellent quality and the deck handles very well indeed. The card size is perfect for showing off the ilustrations and also the perfect size for shuffling, especially if you have small hands. A lovely deck with beautifully, dreamy artwork from an exceptionally talented artist.
